Tether is a new community and resource for Cincinnati image-makers—the photographers, wardrobe stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, models, creative directors, and fashion designers who create the imagery in your favorite magazines, ads, and commercial campaigns.
Tether’s mission is to make it easier for local image-makers to connect to each other, and to opportunities for work so they can thrive—and stay—in Cincinnati. Tether was founded by 2017 Haile Fellowship recipient Tamia Stinson and is currently powered by People's Liberty.
Who and what?
Tamia Stinson (that would be me!) started online as a fashion blogger back in 2008, creating an international magazine for style bloggers and freelancing as an editorial stylist while working in corporate marketing and project management. I moved on to become the Stylist at Cincinnati Magazine, and met so many amazing people that when that ended, I decided to apply for a People’s Liberty Haile Fellowship. People’s Liberty is a fantastic organization that invests in people who want to make a difference in their community, and they were kind enough to invest in me so I could create Tether.
Tether connects image-makers via:
- Tether Digital
- Tether Events
- The Tether Sourcebook
In this day and age, a strong digital presence is a necessity. Tether is all over social media, from Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to our beloved Instagram (hey, image-makers are visual). We feature some of the most talented folks in the #TetherCincy fam and a peek behind the scenes of what we do right here on this very site.
But the pièce de résistance of our online world is the Tether Directory, a searchable listing of the best image-makers in Greater Cincinnati. It’s the best way to find and get found, to get connected and stay connected.
Tether events are a way to connect. They’re an opportunity for photographers, stylists, makeup artists, creative directors, producers, and talent to meet face-to-face for collaboration, education, and yeah, a little venting. They’re a chance for our community to partner with other communities in the creative and entrepreneurial space.
We host everything from happy hours to workshops to full-fledged par-tays, all in the name of coming together. Join in!
The Tether Sourcebook
A cross between a portfolio, a directory, and a magazine, the Tether Sourcebook is a beautifully designed print book that includes imagery, editorial content, and a listing of Cincinnati image-makers that will be distributed to agencies and brands locally and nationwide. The Tether Sourcebook is our chance to collaborate on a dope project, promote ourselves and our city, and show the world what we can do.
